ROKiT Venturi Racing Reveals Formula E Accelerate Driver Lineup

ROKiT Venturi Racing’s Esports efforts

On the eve of Formula E’s Accelerate Esports competition, ROKiT Venturi Racing is pleased to name Lorenz Hoerzing and Erhan Jajovski as its drivers for the six-race series.

Accelerate will see 24 sim racing stars do battle in the digital sphere, mastering energy management and Attack Mode for the very first time to compete for a prize pool of €100,000 and the chance to drive a Gen2 car.

As an F1 Bros League champion in both Formula 1 and Formula E – and after competing in last year’s Race at Home Challenge – Lorenz Hoerzing is no slouch behind the virtual wheel and is a rising star in the sim-racing world.

The 18-year-old Austrian will be joined by 2020 GT Pro Series winner and 2021 Sim Formula Europe champion Erhan Jajovski from Macedonia.

Erhan previously represented ROKiT Venturi Racing on last year’s Challenge Grid in the Race at Home series and came second in Formula E’s online qualifier for Accelerate, falling only 0.044s shy of Red Bull Racing Esports pilot Frederik Rasmussen around the Berlin Tempelhof Circuit.

Formula E Accelerate will be broadcast across multiple platforms including Twitch, Facebook and YouTube, with the first race taking place at 19:00 GMT on Thursday, January 28 around the virtual streets of New York City.

The competition will conclude on March 25 where double points will be awarded and a champion will be crowned.

Lorenz Hoerzing “When I started out in sim racing, my aim was to have fun and to make new friends so to be selected as one of ROKiT Venturi Racing’s official Esports drivers is a huge honour for me. Esports create a fantastic opportunity to connect with people around the world and it’s been great to see how Formula E has embraced online gaming so successfully. With energy management and Attack Mode now being added on rFactor 2, the racing will feel even more real and will be even more challenging but this should make it more exciting for the competitors and the audience. I can’t wait to get started in Race 1 and I’ll be pushing as hard as I can to hit the ground running.”

Erhan Jajovski “I can’t wait to represent ROKiT Venturi Racing in Formula E Accelerate. In the Race at Home Challenge, I got a taste of how close the competition is but looking at the timings from the online qualifiers, Accelerate will be even closer. After winning Sim Formula Europe, the start to 2021 has already been good for me and I’m definitely looking to build on that success over the coming weeks. There is a huge audience out there hungry for more competitions so I’m sure Accelerate will be very warmly received and I’m very excited to be part of it.”
